The Groupement des Affineurs d’Aluminium (G2A) unanimously re-elected Pierre Santini, CEO of Soremo as Chairman. This appointment also allows him to take on the Vice-Presidency of Aluminum France, a federation that brings together the entire aluminum industry, from alumina production to recycling.

Michel Valery, President of Affinerie d’Anjou was unanimously elected Vice-President of G2A. This new mandate allows him to join the Board of Directors of Aluminum France.

Pierre Santini and Michel Valery will represent French refining within Aluminum France. They will help support and develop the profession in all its dimensions and in all of its key markets, mainly the automotive industry. They will participate in improving the competitiveness of French refining to better recycle aluminum, in close collaboration with car manufacturers as well as with reclaimers and smelters.

Among the actions of the G2A, work on the carbon footprint of recycled aluminum is a priority, as is the optimization of recycling in the vehicles of tomorrow and the maintenance of a competitive local recycling solution .

In 2019, G2A represented more than 80% of French production of recycled aluminum by refining and a quarter of French aluminum production.
