In a unique context, four organizations in the metallurgical sector – Aluminum France, SNFA, the Forge and Foundry Federation and A3M – have organized themselves to source health protection such as surgical masks and FFP2, and thus promote the resumption of their activities in the best possible conditions.

Faced with the COVID-19 health crisis, its impact on the economy and in a desire to guarantee the safety of all, the metallurgical sector has shown remarkable solidarity characteristic of its professional networks. ALUMINUM FRANCE , SNFA (Professional organization representing designers, manufacturers and installers of exterior joinery in aluminum profiles and removable and mobile partitions ), the FORGE ET FONDERIE FEDERATION and A3M (Alliance of Minerals, Minerals and Metals ), have joined forces to organize the import of more than 1.2 million surgical and FFP2 masks.

This operation was carried out with the help of the Eramet group, which made its sourcing center located in China available to enable a better supply of masks – FFP2 and surgical – for the entire industry. This made it possible to put in touch with two Asian suppliers capable of producing and delivering these goods within a few weeks . The first masks have already been sent and distributed on French territory. As a reminder, these orders are independent of those of the government and the health services, which remain a priority in the delivery and reception of this protective equipment.

More than 160 companies with different trades and sectors of activity, members of these four organizations, benefit from this chain of solidarity.

13 companies spread over the territory have agreed to take over the orders of companies in their region and to ensure the particularly complex logistics in this context of global health crisis.

We thank and proudly carry with one voice this commitment of solidarity, for the benefit of their partners and competitors: ALUDIUM, ALVANCE ALUMINUM DUNKERQUE, CONSTELLIUM (ISSOIRE, NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES, NEUF BRISACH AND MONTREUIL-JUIGNE), FENETREA, HYDRO , ORIAL, REYNAERS ALUMINUM, SCHÜCO, SEPALUMIC, TRIMET FRANCE.

These exceptional measures must ensure the continuity of our activities, an essential link to revive and maintain the country’s economy.

It is in these extreme and unprecedented situations that we recognize the unifying power of professional organizations.
